Shiloh, Matt and Jeffrey talk Hutts

So a week or two ago was Star Wars Hutt week, and if you missed it Jeffrey did some really nice writing about it on his site Imperial Talker . We liked it so much we asked him to join us for our own Hutt brainstorm…. a hutt-storm? Talking opinions and info about the slimy crime syndicate that held immense power in the galaxy.

Shiloh Kamrath: A Star Wars Story

So, I suppose I should start at the beginning. I was born on October 23, 1998(that makes me 17 years old by the way), and that is pretty an important factor in my star wars story. I first saw star wars when I was 6 or 7, I really can’t remember when. It’s been such a long time….well maybe not that long, but let’s not gets hung up on that. I remember that me and my friends were trying to decide what to watch and one of them said we should watch star wars(a new hope). Now, I did not want to watch star wars. I mean, I straight up had fit; I was not watching star wars. Enter, my mom, and like most mothers, she knew best. She convinced me that I really should watch the movie. Now, I kind of think she regrets what she did, but too late now for that. Needless to say, I loved it. Lucky for me there were still star wars movies coming out at that point. First, I got the special edition box set of DVD’s for Christmas, and then I watched the prequels. However, over time I slowly got away from star wars. I wasn’t really aware that there was any star wars outside the movies, so there was nothing else out there for me, and as far as I was concerned star wars was doomed to the shelf as “just another good movie”.

Darth Vader In Rogue One

Darth Vader in Rogue One. This is a statement that now seems to have a high likelihood of being true. This statement is also extremely exciting. As I have said in previous posts, Darth Vader has become extremely interesting in the time since the new canon. He has gotten material that has broadened his character in many different ways. Some of the very best that the new canon has to offer, has explored this, namely Lords of The Sith(LOTS), Tarkin, and the Darth Vader Comic series. As a result of this material, and greater explanation of Anakin’s fall in the Clone Wars, he is now the character I am most excited to be seeing on screen. Yes, even more so than Han Solo in his spin off. Below are some characteristics of Vader I would like to see. Continue reading

The Call of The Light: An Essay on Kylo Ren

So, coming away from the Force Awakens, I have to say that the character that stood out the most was Kylo Ren. Even though the other characters were quite interesting and funny, something about him really caught me. After thinking about it, I think that what I find interesting is his raw power, but yet his insecurity and torment. While, for the other characters such as Rey and Fin it may be a heroes journey, I think that for Kylo it is a full on struggle between the dark and the light. And for me, that is the very fabric of Star Wars. Below, I am going to explore some of the things I think are most interesting about this character.

Review of Shattered Empire #1

Shattered Empire #2 svela un nuovo personaggio nella Galassia!

Having now read Shattered empire #1, I think I can say that this is now my favorite Star wars comic yet. The word I would use to describe this issue is realistic. Unlike some of the other Star Wars issues out right now, it is not a fanstastic grand adventure like, say, Darth Vader is. It doesn’t have an incredibly complex plot or crazy things happening. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I thoroughly enjoy the Darth Vader series. However Shattered empire is simply about a man and wife fighting a war, and I think this simplicity it part of its charm. It is simple and straightforward in a way that is reminiscent of the Original Trilogy, which it directly follows. To me, it literally feels like a deleted scene from Return of The Jedi, and I love it. Continue reading

The latest Clip from Star Wars Rebels: Someone you can count on

The Might of the Empire Grows and Fan Favorites Debut in New Episodes of Star Wars Rebels Season 2

We have been given yet another clip from rebels. As if weren’t excited enough already. It looks like even if there won’t be a confrontation between master and padawan, and I don’t think that’s very likely, It certainly won’t be for lack of trying on Ahsoka’s part. Awesome again to see that tactical droid head. Am I wrong, or is that a different model than from the Clone wars. I don’t know, either way, enjoy!

Reveiw of Kanan jarrus #5

Review: Kanan – The Last Padawan #5

So, after reading Kanan #5 I am really starting to see it as a bridge between CW and rebels. This series has done a great job of holding to that New Dawn/ Rebels feel, and yet dealing with a lot of things we saw in Clone Wars. Not only that, but this series actually looks like it will be a direct continuation into the Rebel’s era. This is going to be interesting, because we may be seeing adventures with the rebel’s gang that is from Kanan’s point of view. Especially if Kanan keeps up the narrating that he has done in previous issues. This seems to imply that this comic is going to become even better than it is now. Continue reading

Star Wars Rogue One Cast Annouced

Star Wars: Rogue One L to R: Actors Riz Ahmed, Diego Luna, Felicity Jones, Jiang Wen and Donnie Yen Photo Credit: Jonathan Olley ©Lucasfilm 2016

New details for Rogue one were just released today. After seeing this picture, I am starting to get very excited for this film. I have a feeling that this is going to be quite a different Star wars film than we are used to. Just looking at this picture, I would never have guessed it was a star wars film. What actually caught me off guard the most was the technology in this picture, It reminds me a lot of WW2 era tech and weaponry. However, they do mention they are committed to keeping that same star wars feel, so I have high hopes for this movie. Below is the article from Continue reading

Hope and Fear in Star Wars

The two emotions in Star Wars which I feel are most prevalent are hope and fear. Everything in star wars seems to be built around these two things. Characters either seem to be looking forward with hope, or giving into their fear. Today, I will be exploring what these two emotions mean for the Star Wars universe. Let’s start with hope.
